On this page you can find answers to the most common or general knowledge of events in or with analog. On the right hand side is an overview of the FAQ, which are clickable, so you don't have to scroll through each question.
Analog hosts three mainly three types of events:
Open events for all ITU students
Collaborations with other ITU student organisations
Internal events for Analog members and baristas only
For open events you can either turn up and join, or sign up if required. For collab events, access depends on how the partner organisation is running things. Sometimes it's open to everyone who signs up, sometimes it's limited to that organisation's own members. Check the specific event listing or ask the host organisation if you're unsure. Internal events are marked as such on the calendar and aren't open for outside sign up. They're shown purely so you can see when the space is booked.
There's no fixed quota. The number varies by semester depending on who's hosting and what's going on at ITU. That said, a handful of events are practically annual traditions (things like our pumpkin carving night and end of semester quizzes tend to come back every year). Beyond those, the best way to stay in the loop is to check this calendar regularly, follow ReadIT, and keep an eye out for posters around school.
Most of what we do centres on coffee. Tastings, brewing demos, latte art nights, and baristas from Analog serving at other ITU events. Alongside that, we run social and community events that don't need a coffee angle at all, such as pumpkin carving, music quizzes, and game nights. If an ITU organisation wants to collaborate on something outside these categories, we're generally open to discussing it. See "Who can host an event" below.
Hosting duties primarily sit with the Social Crew and Analog members, since most events are self driven and need someone responsible for planning and running them on the day.
Beyond that, any ITU student or faculty member can request to host or co host an event with Analog. You don't need to be a member yourself, but you'll need to work with someone from Analog to organise it.
If you're not affiliated with ITU at all (an external company, organisation, or individual), events aren't handled through this request process. You'll need to contact our sponsor manager directly to discuss and set up a formal agreement.
A few ground rules apply to any event held in or in collaboration with Analog. No political or partisan agenda, so events stay neutral and welcoming to everyone. Events must be inclusive and open in spirit, even if access to a specific event is limited (for example an organisation's members only event). Respect the space and community Analog has built, meaning behaviour that excludes or makes others uncomfortable isn't allowed.
For events physically hosted inside the café specifically, two additional rules apply. No food service (Analog's own kitchen and serving rules take precedence), and no alcohol.
Events hosted elsewhere on campus in collaboration with Analog (for example Analog serving coffee at another organisation's event) may follow different logistics. Talk to your Analog contact when planning.
How do I sign up for an event?
What other types of events?
Other than the mentioned above we do also have:
Events with ITU students and they can b´bring their friends
Us serving coffee at another event
Another company or organisation purchasing our coffee for their events
Is Analog accessible? Do I need to be an ITU student to attend?
Analog events are primarily aimed at the ITU community, meaning students, faculty, and sometimes friends they bring along, depending on the event. If you're not affiliated with ITU and want to attend or partner on something, get in touch so we can let you know what's possible for that particular event.
How do I find out about new events as soon as they're announced?
We do not have a newsletter or put out notificaitons in any way.
